It's the first question almost everyone asks us: how long do I actually need in Egypt? The honest answer is that it depends on what you want to feel — but here's how we think about it.
A long weekend (3–4 days)
Short on time? You can still have a wonderful first taste. Base yourself in Cairo, give the Pyramids of Giza a full, unhurried day, and spend another wandering historic Cairo and the Grand Egyptian Museum. It's fast, but it works.
If this is you, start with our day among the Pyramids and build outward from there.
A full week (7 days)
This is the sweet spot for most first-time visitors. A week lets you pair Cairo's ancient wonders with the temples of Upper Egypt without rushing. Our signature route — Egypt, unfolded — moves from Giza to Luxor and Aswan at a pace that leaves room for the unexpected: a market detour, a quiet courtyard, the soft light on the Nile.
Ten days to two weeks
With more time, Egypt opens up. Add slow days on the timeless Nile, escape to the Red Sea coast, or head into the silence of the White Desert. This is when a trip stops being a checklist and starts becoming a story.
The best way to experience Egypt is to make room for it — for its stories, its people, and its wonderfully unexpected moments.
So, how many days?
- 3–4 days: Cairo and the Pyramids. A vivid first taste.
- 7 days: Cairo, Luxor and Aswan. The classic, well-paced first trip.
- 10–14 days: Add the Nile, the coast, or the desert. Room to breathe.
Whatever you choose, you don't have to plan it alone. Tell us how much time you have and what draws you in, and we'll shape a journey around you.
